KILRAIN/LANNON by Chris Guzman. Both of these men fought in the late 1800's, being contemporaries to the great John L. Sullivan. Jake Kilrain (on left) fought Sullivan in 1889 over 75 rounds in the sweltering heat in the last-ever bareknuckle heavyweight title fight. Joe Lannon (on right) gave Kilrain all he could handle (in a strong, albeit losing attempt) in their fight, and also served as a chief sparring partner for Sullivan.
ADDITIONAL INFO: SOLD! . . . . This piece is now proudly in the family of Joe Lannan, the great-grandson of Joe Lannon, one of the subjects in the painting.
